Praying for India
An ordinary alley in New Delhi reminds of the challenges facing families throughout the nation especially in the overpopulated urban areas.
India: A Land in Need of Prayer
India is a land of rich history, vibrant culture, and immense spiritual hunger. But behind the beauty and diversity lies a deep and urgent need—one that calls us as believers to rise up in prayer and action.
Poverty and the Daily Struggle
Millions in India live without access to basic needs. Families go without clean water, children go to bed hungry, and far too many are denied the opportunity for education or healthcare. This isn’t just economic hardship—it’s a spiritual burden. Poverty crushes hope and silences potential.
“Poverty isn’t just a financial issue—it’s a spiritual battle that demands our prayerful attention.”
Persecution of the Church
Our brothers and sisters in Christ face increasing pressure and persecution. In many regions, pastors are harassed, churches are threatened, and believers gather in secret—not for fear of shame, but for fear of violence. Yet the church continues to grow. Why? Because the Gospel is unstoppable. And our prayers fuel that boldness.
Lack of Resources and Support
In the West, we often take ministry tools for granted—Bibles, training, safe gathering spaces. But in many parts of India, pastors are doing the work of ten people with none of the tools. When we pray, we aren’t just offering spiritual support—we’re inviting God to move through us, to send, to give, to go.
The Need for Education
Education is one of the greatest weapons we have to break the cycle of poverty and spiritual oppression. In India, access to quality education—especially in rural areas—is scarce. Christian schools can be a light in the darkness, equipping young people with knowledge, character, and the Gospel. When we pray, we help open doors for future generations.
Calling the Next Generation of Leaders
One of the most pressing needs in India is for trained, Spirit-filled, servant-hearted leaders. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Our prayer is that God would raise up young men and women to lead the church with wisdom and courage. And perhaps, that He would stir the hearts of people right here to go, serve, and invest in those leaders.
Will You Pray with Us?
Let’s not be content with comfort while our family across the world faces crisis. Let’s pray daily for India—for provision, protection, and powerful transformation. Let’s believe that God will do more than we ask or imagine.
Let’s be willing to be part of the answer.
Lord, break our hearts for what breaks Yours!
